2Co 8:5 And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God’s will.
The Macedonian despite their poverty they still does lend a helping hand to help the cause of God. As in the will of God, we give ourselves first then only we will able to shine the light of God in through the better deed of giving.
How many of us do look into the offering and shining plate into the image of ourselves as an offering to the Lord? Likewise we substitute into the plate by tainting our responsibility and duty for a gift exchange in the altar of philanthropic, throwing in money and extra resources that we own to establish His kingdom. Jesus Christ died for us on the cross not for the abundance of giving resources to build his Kingdom. It is us a flesh and blood that he want to extend His very Kingdom through us as an act of kindness and helping each others. It is multiplification of His territorial victory through us, one by one not by a simmering victor of huge monument and fine-looking building.
God needs us to multiply and bear witness his good news, His marvelous joy and peace in his salvation. His Kingship palace is not constructing in a mighty weapon of high, great design architecture and awesome building, it is put together on us-, me and you, a cornerstone, us- as a stone and mortal bricks that placed and fitted perfectly unto his Kingship. The joy of participation of bricks that is mold, us- has been selected to be chosen to richly fit into God desire and plan as He delighted. That is where some of the talent and gift being chosen to the office of the five folds ministry.
God by the Holy Spirit has always challenged us- in all mean to give ourselves first to the ministry of His work and deed. To kindly serve and win man over to His abundance kingdom without favor and division. He means to train us- , fit us- and perfect us- towards His coming reign through Jesus Christ.
To the church of Christ, Jesus warned, to those that will not accept His talents and gifts on he has prepared to come to His kingdom, He will render them rejecting this little child commended as the greatest in His kingdom. For ourselves in commitment, will we take a deeper dedication by giving more of our self to serve His kingdom, rather than substitute with other resources?
Remember, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God”. It is by the words of God we exist and also by His words we pass on. Do us worthy and serve each other so that we may glorify our Father in heaven.
